Getting our desires and needs met is a practice. A beautiful one and one that can be hard, challenging and uncomfortable at times. It for sure is a habit worth building. It trains us to feel our desires, acknowledge, respect and take them seriously. We need to be present with ourselves to notice those authentic desires of the here and now. Furthermore with this practice we learn to articulate our desires, speak our truth and ask for help when we cannot do it alone. This is incredibly powerful.
And last but not least we learn to accept the gift of having our desires met exactly as we want.
Remember that this is a practice. I was terrible at asking for what I wanted. For most of the time I didn’t have a good sense of my body and my desires. Respecting those wasn’t my strong suit either and articulating them… Ah, well, better not. And when I received a gift I had a hard time taking it in fully without thinking about what I could give in reverse. And to be honest with you I still struggle here and there. It is a practice after all.
I desire that you ask yourself what you want now. Feel into your body – what does she want? Get it or ask somebody for it. Take it in fully.
I desire this because when I imagine women taking themselves seriously and being treated like Goddesses (by themselves and others) it makes my heart expand and my body relax. I truly believe that women asking for what they want make this world a better place.
