Where do you put your creative power?

Whatever you create, comes from inside you. You have thoughts and feelings and translate them into your creative work. You dance with YOUR body, you write YOUR thoughts, you sing with YOUR voice.

It’s hard to negate your contribution to your work when you bring so much to it.

Yet, sometimes we want to blame others or the circumstances for the apparent lack of quality of our work.

That’s a trap that looks convenient, but lures you in with the sticky sweetness of self-pity. It doesn’t want to see you go and take back your power.

I ask you: Do you want to create from luck or from power? Are you willing to take responsibility for your work? Are you willing to take responsibility for your life?

Yes, I know that not every circumstance is equally supportive. Yet it is still on you to make
something out of it.

Are you ready to stop looking outside for reasons you can’t and start looking within for everything you can?

How creativity and sexuality are deeply connected

Do you sometimes (or often) lose your connection to your creativity?

You feel shitty, tell yourself that you’re supposed to think freely and express yourself, but find yourself feeling trapped in old patterns and your life feels like Groundhog Day.

You notice your inspiration and intuitive nudges slip through your fingers and the more tightly you try to grip them, the more elusive they seem to become.

According to some Eastern traditions, creativity is located in the sacral chakra, which is also the home of your sexual force.

Tensing up, trying to control your sensual and sexual experiences are not going to lead to blissful surrender to pleasure and orgasm. Have you noticed the difference between a forced, tense orgasm from intense clitoral stimulation and the gentle flow of pleasure that comes from a slow massage or a sensual foreplay that goes on and on?

While the one experience is goal-oriented and focused on getting to the peak, the other is pleasurable the whole time. A high peak is often followed by a stark drop, leaving you depleted or in discomfort.

Just like sexual pleasure, creativity wants to be given space to bloom. It wants to be seduced and invited without any conditions.

As I deepen my own exploration of sensual creativity and run a creative business, I expand my coaching offer to women who want to explore their creative expression.

Making art isn’t about the art

Perfectionist artists that strive to create a “worthy” piece of art made us believe that creativity is about struggle and pain.

Being a creative human seems to be a rare blessing and a lifelong punishment at the same time. Either you have true talent and are entitled to make art, or you are an ignorant amateur.

If you happen to be a “true” artist you carry the pain of humanity combined with your own feelings of unworthiness and imposter syndrome on your aching back.

Isn’t that what the stories of brilliant, but unhappy artists tell us over and over?

I call BS on this.

Creativity isn’t a rare trait of only a few chosen humans.
Creative expression comes naturally if given the time and space for its often non-linear process.

This process is highly personal and unique.
This means that everyone is creative and capable of truly unique expression. It also means that there is no higher or lesser creative output, but only art that represents the unique truth and growth of every human on this planet.

“But what about the struggle and creative blocks? They are real!”, you might say.

They are as real as you make them. Like everything else in your life. It’s always in your power to change the meaning of an experience or circumstance.

Fight against the ease and flow and your creativity is a fight.
Surrender to the ease and flow and your creativity will take you to new shores and endeavors.

In my world, creativity is deeply connected to sensations, emotions and the intuitive wisdom of the body.

Saying yes to your experience is saying yes to unfiltered and free expression.

However, if you want to skip your present experience and jump ahead, you miss the now, the lesson and the journey. In short: you miss the curiosity and play.

Do you feel repressed in your expression?

Spontaneous free expression seems risky and open for ridicule?

As an introverted good girl you were trained to be nice and quiet person that with small body language?

Unfortunately, you are just not the type for free, uninhibited expression. At least that’s what you’re telling yourself all day.

Yet you long to be seen and heard more clearly?

You want to sing your favorite song in the kitchen and dance like a wild woman without any obvious reasons?

You wanna paint a fun painting for the bleak wall in your bedroom? No, even better, you want to paint the whole wall and turn the door into a sensual entrance into your private temple?

Does that sound like fun?

This is possible. For you as well!

I’m an introvert as well, raised as a nice girl at every level. I know what it feels like to be overlooked and overheard.

Instead of making sure that my creative work fits into society’s norm, I express from within me. The results can look tame or wild, boring or crazy. It’s not about what it looks like, but how I FELT creating it!

Come back to yourself and create from your truth. It’s more than possible for you, because you already have what it takes: You are able to feel.

Why self-love is an integral part of a fulfilling creativity

For many humans creativity is a locked treasure chest that – if opened – contains heaps of self-criticism with very little creative fulfillment.

Do you know this nagging voice inside of you that puts down your art and points out all the ways you could and should have done better?

Have you ever been trapped in comparison with just about everyone on this planet?

How does that affect your creative output? Are you consciously turned on by feeling not good enough? Does it inspire you to try to beat everyone in this vast game of creativity?

Or do you lose your enthusiasm and joyful playfulness?

Your expression is inherently valuable.
Why? Because it stems from your truth and perception of the world. It comes from your uniqueness.

Accepting this as true requires a good dash of self-acceptance and self-love.

The creative process is incredibly vulnerable and showing your work is like presenting your inner world – unfiltered and unpolished.

I understand when so many great artists have had the desire to destroy they paintings right after completion. They wanted to get rid of proof of their unworthiness and the evidence that they aren’t good enough.

Let’s break this unhealthy pattern of creatives hating themselves and their wonderful expressions. By creatives I mean everyone who engages in creativity of any kind: entrepreneurs, dancers, mothers, gardeners …

Start loving yourself and you will notice that your struggle with creativity decreases.
